“Going Green” can be a little daunting to begin. what do you do first? While I cannot claim to have turned over a new leaf, I did at least hesitate before throwing the aluminum soda can into the garbage. Baby steps.

I’m not much of an environmentalist, if at all. But I’m also not a climate change denier, though I think most of the doomsday scenarios are overblown perhaps to incite action. A friend of mine broached the subject of adding an environmental section to blackgirlgrown and at first I didn’t really think it fit. My common refrain is that I choose children over trees. But that is being overly simplistic and I do recognize (though not quite there yet on backing it up with consistent action) the need to take care of Mother Earth.
