Though Valentine’s Day focuses on romantic love, we should also take the time to celebrate the love of mankind.  Stevie Wonder said it best in his song, “Love’s In Need.” Consider listening to it before the day is over.  I’ve included the lyrics just in case you needed a good word. I used to love Jeopardy!  Forgive me:-)  But two news items crossed my inbox, and the first thing that came to mind was, “I ain’t mad.” Exhibit A:  Georgia Mayor To Sign Law Making Sagging Pants Illegal The town of Dublin, Georgia, is putting saggy, baggy pants in the category of indecent exposure, with violators […]

Chalk it up to my love of Family Feud as a child, but instead of signature David Letterman “Top 10” lists or Jeopardy’s answers in the form of of a question, my mind categorizes lists in the tradition of Family Feud. Thus today’s post on things that are evil. Credit Card Companies: I was one […]

How Does One Celebrate Earth Day?

Today is Earth Day. So we’re supposed to go forth and save the planet. Unlike other holidays and awareness days, its kind of difficult to know what you’re supposed to be doing. On Halloween, you go trick-or-treating. On Valentine’s Day, you buy cards and stale chocolate. For heart disease awareness in women, you wear red. You can’t wear green, that’s for St. Patrick’s Day. Novelty aside, its tough to know how you can make a difference, and to know if you’re actually making a difference. NBC just suggested that I brush my teeth without running the faucet. How does that save the earth? Not being silly, just trying to understand the impact.

Why are people willing to divulge very personal information on Facebook in general, and the “25 Random Things  About Me” specifically? What does anyone see in the Jonas Brothers? Why is there only outrage when blacks are killed by whites, when statistics show that 94 percent of black murder victims were killed by black offenders? Why don’t […]
