Thanksgiving 2010.
I’ve got lots to be thankful for.
The first people that come to mind are my parents and grandparents. I am blessed to have my mother, my stepfather, and my maternal grandparents. From childhood until now, they show me every day that they are all the family I need.
I am thankful that I can, in some small way, repay the incredible debt my mother paid so that I could have all the things that I needed, and some of the things that I wanted growing up. My goal is to continue to do the same for her.
I am thankful for my friends. I probably don’t say it enough to them directly. But I am blessed to have a family of friends, it is one of the few families of our choosing.
I am thankful for the counsel of friends that convinced me to step out on faith and start my own business. I would have never expected that of myself. That’s why it’s good to have friends that expect more than you expect of yourself.
I am thankful for my health. It is something too many of us take for granted.
I am thankful for anyone who has stopped by blackgirlgrown. Your continued interest and return visits make this mentally and spiritually worthwhile.
And most incredibly, I am thankful to God for always preparing me for the journey. I may not understand what He has prepared for me, but I know that He is preparing me for it.
God bless, and enjoy this day of Thanksgiving.
