We were having a little fun on Twitter yesterday noting the many reasons why you should not partake in the Black Friday shopping orgy. And while many observations were said in jest, it is a way of speaking the truth. Many of these admonitions are based on our own personal failings, mistakes, and lessons learned. So laugh a little, but heed a lot. We want you to continue growing your bank account, not your credit card account!
Black Friday Might Not Be For You…
If you’re not paying in cash
If you’ve already got 5 TVs, and you’re buying another one because it’s on sale
If you’re a couple of months behind on your rent or mortgage
If you owe back child support payments
If you owe me money and you’re eyeing a new flatscreen
If all you can afford is the minimum on your credit cards
If you’ve been steady telling me you need to get your finances in order and you cant afford to pay your part of bill
If you’re contemplating what bills you can afford to skip this month in order to shop
If you’re dodging bill collectors by mail, phone, and mobile phone
If you got banned from a store last year for your Black Friday antics
If you steady trying to figure out what combo of credit cards will get you that Gucci
