Interestingly trending on Twitter was #thingblackgirlsdo. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But decided to take a look at the trending topic.
What I saw was not so much good, too much bad, and a hell of a lot of ugly.
So the black girl in me wanted to change the conversation to something more positive.
This is what I came up with:
#thingsblackgirlsdo Grow up to be phenomenal women who can carry the weight of the world
#thingsblackgirlsdo Love hard, work hard, and grind harder
#thingsblackgirlsdo Have a full time job, a part time job, and a side hustle no matter if the economy is good or bad
#thingsblackgirlsdo Tweet out positive energy to other black girls in spite of the negativity when you search for #thingsblackgirlsdo
#thingsblackgirlsdo Protect themselves from villains (abusive men, HIV/AIDS, ignorance)
