The White House: On Sunday August 29th, President spoke at Xavier University on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. This week, President Obama will travel to Fort Bliss, Texas, where he will meet with troops. Later, the President will also address the nation on Iraq from the Oval Office.
The U.S. Congress: Both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives are participating in their respective August District Work Periods and will not return to Washington, DC for recorded votes until September 13, 2010.
