This Week in Washington: July 19, 2010

The White House: President Obama used his weekly address to go after Congressional Republicans preventing the passage of unemployment benefits for the jobless.  This week, President Obama will sign Wall $treet Reform legislation into law.

The U.S. Senate:   After swearing in new West Virginia Senator Carte Goodwin (D-WV), the Senate is likely to vote on legislation to extend unemployment benefits and a fiscal 2010 supplemental war spending bill.

The U.S. House of Representatives: The House will likely vote on legislation in response to the BP Oil Spill.  Specifically, the House will vote on bills to fund oil spill research and increase financial liability for oil companies.  Also, the House will vote on legislation to add wind coverage to the flood insurance program.
