Have Feminism and Sexual Freedom Cost Us Our Happiness?

Iranian model Pegah Patra writes in the Huffington Post on the cost of sexual freedom:

According to a recent survey, in 1980 6% of men ages 40-44 were never married. Today that number has jumped to 17%. Men are delaying or avoiding marriage like never before and women want to know why. Well, as the saying goes “why buy the cow when the milk is free?” and there are a lot of cows roaming around these days many more than in past generations.

Could this be the fault of women who for years were fighting for feminism and wanting to be free and equal to men? Of course we believe in equal rights and a woman’s independence but maybe the concept of feminism has also taken us to the extreme level of sexual freedom. By making sex so available and accessible for men it allows them to lose respect and not value courtship the way they did years ago in western cultures or as they still do in many parts of the world.

Have feminism and sexual freedom cost us our happiness?

Well maybe we will realize that sexual freedom is not free. It has its emotional, social, and spiritual price! Now the costs of “sexual freedom” on overall society is more and more evident.

In a word – YES! However, it is up to women to know how to be traditional at the same time as demanding equal rights. Sex is the great destabilizer in the world and along with money, the root of many evils. Rational level headed women have to know how to strike a balance while teaching others to value who and what they are. Its ok to be submissive to your mate, however, it is also appropriate that you make him wait!!! Woman have forgotten how to think with their hearts and not with thier genitals as well.

I know many young women today who live with their boyfriends, or think they can have one night stands just like guys do. Why should a guy be motivated to get married when he is getting everything a married man gets, yet he is single!!! Women are wired differently from men. Women who have one night stands are emotionally damaged more easily than guys. And like it or not, ladies, guys don’t marry sluts. It boils down to a trust factor. If you sleep with him before you are married, why would he not think you would sleep around on him after you are married?
