This Week in Washington: March 29, 2010

The White House: President Obama surprised the press with a surprise visit to Afghanistan to visit the troops.  While in Afghanistan, the President met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.  This week, President Obama will sigh health care reform Part Deux, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act in Northern Virginia.  He’ll also travel to North Carolina to deliver remarks on the economy.

The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives:You can catch your federal elected officials back home in their states for the next two weeks.  The Senate and House are in recess for the “Spring District Work Period.”  That means no votes or committee hearings until April 12th.
