The blizzard of 2010 has paralyzed most of Washington, DC, federal government included.  And more snow is in the forecast for this week.

The White House: Last week, the President released his budget for fiscal year 2011.  President Obama also unveiled a number of measures to support small businesses which he used his weekly address to highlight.  This week, President and First Lady Obama will host musicians to celebrate Black History Month.  Also, First Lady Michelle Obama will unveil her initiative to combat childhood obesity.

The U.S. Senate: The blizzard has caused a change in the Senate schedule. Votes set for Monday on judicial and Labor Department nominations have been delayed until Tuesday.   The Senate may also consider a new job creation/stimulus bill later in the week.  Senate committees will hold hearings on a variety of issues including the Haiti Recovery Act (S. 2961), the transfer of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, cybercrime and identity theft.

The U.S. House of Representatives: Shut down for the week.  The House returns on Tuesday for votes on non-controversial bills on the suspension calendar before considering health care reform bills.  House committees will hold hearings on a variety of issues including the situation in Haiti and the Toyota recall.
