I’ve never been much for Black Friday deals. My mother is into it and would drag me to Kohl’s or Wal-Mart at 7 am to get a $20 DVD player. It has to be about the excitement of the deal, and not the actual purchase. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve gotten some great deals but it isn’t a calling like it is for some. I’d much rather catch a great deal Black Friday deal online in the comfort of my home while eating Thanksgiving leftovers.
Whether you’re online or out and about, here is a roundup of Black Friday Deals we’ve come across.
- Kiplinger has a post on 22 places online to find some great Black Friday deals. They’ve got their best sites grouped by where to find the lowest price online (dealio.com, pricegrabber.com, and pronto.com), the best online coupons (retailmenot.com, couponwinner.com, and couponsherpa.com), and free shipping deals (freeshipping.org).
- The Huffington Post has a head’s up on QVC Black Friday deals that will keep folks online instead of in the streets. According to HuffPo, QVC shoppers are promised special deals and a healthy dose of new items for sale starting on Thanksgiving night. Every hour, there will be a specially priced offer, and there will be five hours of gifts that have never been available before on the network.
- CNNMoney.com actually has a sneak peak on Black Friday deals from some of the major retailers including a Westinghouse 32″ LCD HDTV at Target for $246, a TomTom One 125 Portable GPS at Wal-Mart for $59, and a George Foreman Lean Mean grill at Kohl’s for $9.99.
- Websites like BlackFriday.info boast having all of the major retailer Black Friday ads for you to pick and choose from including Staples.com.
- Ikea is offering free breakfast and deals for early Black Friday shoppers.
Also, some shopping tips and words of wisdom for Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers from Time Magazine online:
- Black Friday and Cyber Monday retailers have competition with Free Shipping Day on December 17th (over 500 retailers)
- No need to wait until Friday morning. You can work off your Thanksgiving Dinner by shopping Prime Outlets (opening at midnight), Old Navy opens at 3:30 am (no piece of clothing comes to mind that is worth it!) and Wal-Mart will be open 24 hours.
- The likelihood of getting that $20 DVD player doorbuster deal is pretty slim.
