The White House: The President used his weekly address to express his condolences to the families of those killed and injured by a military serviceman at Fort Hood. This week the President and Mrs. Obama will participate in ceremonies to commemorate the nation’s veterans. Later this week President Obama will head on a week-long trip to Asia where he will visit Japan, Singapore, China, and South Korea.

The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives: Light week in the Senate and no action in the House this week given the Veterans Day Holiday. Before heading back to their congressional districts, members of the House passed the much touted and ballyhooed health care reform package.
