Not much going on in Washington, DC this week either. The first family is back from Martha’s Vineyard. President Obama will remain “on vacation” at The White House.

The President used his weekly address, 4 years to the day since Hurricane Katrina, to describe what his administration has done to boost the Gulf Coast recovery effort, and said that he will visit New Orleans before the end of the year.  President Obama also gave a wonderful eulogy at Senator Ted Kennedy’s memorial service.

This morning, The White House sent out a presidential proclamation honoring historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) for the week.

The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives remain out of session until after Labor Day.  You can contact your member of congress by calling the Capitol switchboard (202) 224-3121 or there are a myriad of websites that have compiled their own lists. The most comprehensive list I’ve seen is from Fox News. Again, no rabble-rousing.
