The White House: President Obama continues to focus on health care reform and the economy. The August recess has bombarded members of Congress with questions and criticisms of the health care reform bills. In attempt to regain the bully pulpit and shift the debate, President Obama used his weekly address to discuss “health insurance reform” calling it “critical to our nation’s long-term economic strength” and dispel rumors being promoted by critics.
After swearing in new Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court over the weekend and traveling to Mexico to meet with his Canadian and Mexican counterparts, President Obama will road trip across the United States in support of “health insurance reform.” Stops include New Hampshire, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona.
The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives are both out of session, with many spending time in the congressional districts/states to meet with constituents.
