The White House: The President continues his push to get Congress to pass health care reform. In his weekly address, President Obama discussed how the health care reform proposals in Congress factor in the impact it will have on small businesses. This week, President Obama will meet with the Chinese, welcome the 2009 WNBA champion Detroit Shock, and host several health care reform events.
The U.S. Senate: The Senate will deliberate over funding for the Department of Energy and related agencies. Most action on health care reform will occur behind doors in the Senate Finance Committee.
The U.S. House of Representatives: In addition to suspension calendar items, the House is scheduled to debate Department of Defense funding and act on legislation to curb excessive pay for corporate and bank executives. Behind the scenes, House Democrats are discussing amongst themselves on how to craft their version of health care reform and pass it before heading out for the annual August district period.
