Blisstree has an excellent article on 7 Tests for Men that could save their lives. If only we could get the men in our lives to actually read it.
The fatal shooting of a black off-duty police officer by his white colleagues on the force reminds us there is no such thing as post-racial. Even local Congressman Rangel thinks so!
C. Diane Thompson asks, “What’s with the names we are giving our kids?” on The Black Snob. Agree 100 percent. That along with tattoos on your neck make it a little difficult.
Interesting. A psychologist suggests he has created a test to determine which kids will join gangs in South Central Los Angeles. Something doesn’t sit right with this. Perhaps I’ll take the test and see.
The HuffingtonPost reports on the significance and dangers of praise. I’m all for a healthy self-esteem, but giving awards out for 12th place is a bit much. It gives kids a false sense of achievement and sets them up for an even bigger let down once they reach the real world.
Mastering the obvious, CNN reports on a study noting that history of childhood abuse and use of a provocative online identity increases the risk that girls will be victimized by someone they meet on the Internet.
