The White House:  President Obama gave his first weekly address as President on Saturday.  President Obama outlined his priorities for the American Recovery and Investment Plan (economic stimulus bill).  President Obama will meet with Congressional leaders again this week to refine the plan amid growing concerns on the size, scope, and stimulative effect of the plan.

The Senate:   The Senate will meet to consider and vote on the nomination of Timothy Geithner as Secretary of the Department of Treasury.  The Senate Finance Committee will meet to mark up the economic stimulus bill, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  The Senate Budget Committee holds a hearing on the federal response to the housing and financial crisis.

The House of Representatives: The House will be in session this week voting on a resolution expressing support for designation of Jan. 28, 2009, as “National Data Privacy Day,” the Senate passed version of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, and its version of the economic stimulus bill.
